Does my aquarium need a heater?

I have a thermometer on the side of the aquarium. Every time I have checked it, it always reads 77 to 80 degrees. Usually floating at about 78.

I have checked this at random times through out the day...even when I wake up first thing and the light is still off.

What do you think?

Okay, thanks for the input! I'm just going to let the heater go for now. If I see the temp drop consistently lower than 76 then I'll get one!
