I thought my three year old was asleep and she was dumping things in my betta's tank.
She put in three bars of soap, a dish towel, among other things. The other things were closed but it is of course the soap that I am most concerned about. The water was white and super cloudy from the soap and towel when I went in.
So without thinking too much and just trying to get her out, I grabbed tank water from another betta tank and put it in a jar and put her in there. She is stressed but moving around like she normally does when I change water.
What do I do? Can I rinse every thing out and put it back or do I have to get rid of the gravel?
I can replace the spongy parts of my nano filter.
Should I do anything else for her.. I have aquarium salt and Bettafix as I am treating another fish for fin rot now.
I am just sick as this is out of character for my daughter but then again, a three year old is never predictable. I am fortunate she did not electrocute herself in the process. Her and her older sister love their fish and enjoy watching her swim around before going to sleep and helping me feed her. My three year old has no idea what she did was wrong and that she hurt her fish until my husband and I started freaking out.
I just hope she lives... Is it a good sign she is okay so far or is it likely that she still has a good chance to get sick or die?
Thanks for your help...
