Bloating?

I have noticed over the past few days that Hathi seemed kind of bloated. I just checked on him, and it is the worst it has ever been. I also haven't seen him poop since I got him on Monday...

Housing
What size is your tank? 5.5 g divided
What temperature is your tank? 80*
Does your tank have a filter? Yes
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? There is another betta on the other side of the divider

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? I alternate between NLS and Omega One pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? 2x a day

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Once a week
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Prime

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia: Between 0 and .25 (hard to tell)
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: Between 20 and 40 ppm
pH: ~7.4
Hardness: ?
Alkalinity: ?

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His stomach has gotten bigger
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? He is sitting at the top of the tank. I touched him gently with my finger to make sure he was still alive, and he swam away.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? A few days ago
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? No
Does your fish have any history of being ill? No
How old is your fish (approximately)? Not sure. Got him on Monday.

Here is a crappy picture of the bloating:

What is happening, and what can I do about it?

I would fast him for about 3 days and see if his belly goes down. if all else fails you can use Epsom salt or have him flare to get himself to poo. I am having this issue with my boy as well and I have tried everything in the book and I do think my boy has SBD swim bladder disorder.

Exact same thing is happening to my betta at the moment! Right now I am fasting him for a few days to see if that gets rid of the bloat... I have also heard you can feed your fish a pea (not sure how to prepare it, Google it) if it gets any worse or doesn't go away. Hope this helped a little... ^^;

I had a similar situation with my betta. I got him last week and though he wasn't bloated he also wasn't pooping. I fasted him on Saturday and today he pooped. I hink it was the stress of getting used to his new home and that he just needed to "reboot" his digestion.
