Trouble breeding bettas

am trying to breeding my bettas aat the moment, when i introduced the female to the male, the male kept showing off and he built a hugh bubble nest. The female hasnt gotten any vertical line, but she is a white female. Her belly is really big. she acted submissively so i released her,the male and female started playing catch and tag. After a while i saw the female floating at the bottom of the aquarium motionless for hours,(she dont have any signs of torn fins etc), she remained so for hours and nothing happened, What did i do wrongg?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Could you post pictures?
Perhaps the beating was too much for her, specially if the male attacks her midsection.

Submissive doesn't necessarily mean wanting to breed. When she is interested, she should flare too but in a different way.

The picture doesn't look good. Females should not be laying on their sides like that. Separate and re-do conditioning.

Can you get a side and top view picture of the female - alone in her solitary tank.
