Me and lil Fin!

Hi I have a new batta named Fin. He is sooo cute! He is black and darkish blue. He is so energetic! I just have him in a little glass tall bowl, i was wondering since you guys seem to be the experts to bettas, should he be in a aqureime? Also, is there any kind of fish that can go in with him? Also and snails? What would u suggest for me and Fin> mi name is Shelby. Bye! <3

Welcome to the forum! :D Glad to have you (: It is suggested that all bettas be in a 2.5 Gallon tank or bowl, but tanks are preferred since you can get them heaters. Since Bettas are tropical fish, they SHOULD have a heater of some sort, with their tank temp. at about 78-80 degrees. In most cases, if you want FISH with your betta, you HAVE to have a 10 gallon, at least. However, African Dart Frogs, Shrimp, and Snails have been able to do well in smaller tanks.

Oh thanx!!! Yah i would love to have a bigger tank for Fin, but they are so expensive, I will try to buy one. I would love to add a snail for Fin, but do u think he would try to bite> or eat him?

Depends on his temperament, Jazz, my littlest of the two, looked REALLY nice and sweet so I gave HIM the snail, but he picked at it so now Heidi has him!

try walmart for tanks...they're cheap lol A 10gal is less than $15 and you can get a 5gal with hood/light and filter for $30
