Please help, my female is poorly!!!!!

Hello, one of my females seems to have become very sick, suddenly!

her signs & symptoms basically are:

googly eyes (bulging)
lying on the floor as kinda like panting / gulping
looking slightly delirious

I have 5 other females in the tank & they are fine & healthy, but I dont understand whats wrong with this one?

Please help, I don't wanna loose my 1st betta!!!!!

I would take her out of the tank just in case she has something contagious. Do you have a 1G hospital tank? Do you use water conditioner for your water?

I'm not sure what the bulging eye is, maybe popeye? I would research it on google or yahoo and look at the different pictures and if yours looks like that, than you can look into what medication to give her. I think JFC or JFE treats popeye, but I'm not sure.

I think...from looking at a number of websites it maybe ammonia poisoning? Don't understand how the other fish in the same tank are all fine, but hey ho.
Has anyone any tips on 'fighting' this? I've got some protizine stuff & stress coat handy, but anything else u suggest i'll buy tomorrow. thanks

What are the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels in the tank she came from? That will help give a definitive answer. The way to fight ammonia is to keep monitoring and doing water changes and keep the water as clean as you can. There are chemicals that supposedly remove it but that's only treating the symptom. If you have high readings you have to find the cause, which is probably an overstocked tank? Your other fish may be stronger to begin with.

For unknown diseases I've recommended Hikari Betta Revive Health Aid at PETCO and have gotten good feedback. I'd give that a try, and make sure that the tank is 78-80 degrees.

Hi again, I took these pictures about 30mins ago, seems to be just floating at the top, still, tummy looks little swollen, her eyes are still boogley (if u see what i mean, don't think u can make it out from the picture?) & basically inactive, definately abnormal behaviour for her.
Still not eating, I'm going to try her favourite & give her a few blood worm in a minute, see if that works?
Any suggestions as to what i can do will be an amazing help. Going to the aquarium this afternoon to see if I can get something to help.
