Question Is It True That...

Hey guys!
I'm pretty new with Bettas, so please be patient with me! I've kept 3 Bettas in the past (Darwin) who was purple and green. He lived for 4 and a 1/2 years. Clarise, who lived 3 and a half years, and Polkee, Who happened to be the prettiest, who somehow managed to bump his wire mesh covering and jump out of his aquarium at night while I was asleep. I know it might not seem like I'm new with Bettas, but somehow I've managed to keep all of these fish (who were gifts) alive in a 5 gallon, one after the other. Anyway, to the point...
I've heard that White Bettas are more prone to sickness. I don't believe this to be true, but I'm wondering. I heard it from somewhere online. I've seen Opaque White Bettas in the pet store, and they've looked perfectly happy, with small bubble nests around the tops of their aquariums. They were very healthy looking. I had a friend, however, that owned a white Betta in a 5 to 10 gallon tank, with a heater, a correct water pH, and perfectly clear water. The Betta seemed very happy in its surroundings. It died within a month...
I am asking this question because I saw a beautiful opaque white Betta spotted purple and green at the nearest pet store, and still a young one. I know this might be a stupid question, but I want to make sure.

Thank you! (...Sorry for how big this thread is!)

That sounds gorgeous! But I've never heard of that. I really think it depends on the betta, some of them are just not healthy compared to others.

I say go get him. If you take care of him the best you can, that's all you can do.
