need help getting a heater for my pal

hello, i have owned a betta for 2 months now and had been keeping it in a 1/2 gallon bowl i got at Target ( i know, i suck but i wasn't well informed on caring for a betta fish ) anyway, today i went to Petco and got the little guy a 2.5 gal tank and was wondering what type of heater should i use. i would preffer an automatic one since both my wife and i work and i dont want my pal to cook while were away. any suggestions?? thanks in advance!!!

For a 2.5 gallon tank I recommend this one - Hydor Mini Aquarium Heater at PETCO

It only raises the temperature about 4-6 degrees so it won't fry the fish.

I use 25 watt elite mini's on my 2.25 gallon tanks and on my 3.3 gallon.
