Help!!!!

yesterday i moved my betta to a 2.5 gal tank with filter and all after having kept him in a .5 gal bowl. well the thing is i got him the tank at luch, went home and prepared his new home then droped him in, he seems much more active now, anyway last nigh as i was walking past his tank i noticed his tail ( he's a male betta ) was being sucked in or stuck to the little tube of the water filter and he couldnt move or break free ( no damage to the tail )so i unpluged the filter and voila! is this a common problem? or what can i do to prevent this from happening, i dont want the little guy having a hard time and stressing himself out because of this.

yes alot of filters are strong enough to do that, you can get a piece of filter floss or filter sponge and put it inside the bottom of the intake tube so that doesnt happen again.

most pop right off, but, if there isnt anyway to pop that off, u can always use a piece of pantyhose and slip it over the end and tie it off, itll at least slow down the intake flow and wont suck up his fins
