My aquabid girls did this to me, apparently they got spoiled on brine shrimp. I tried it one day, that stuff is just gross and I quickly decided its not a reg diet! LOL they got the idea when all they got were the flakes and they've come around...I think they just need time to get hungry enough to give in, I can't believe that she would just starve herself to death...

But can a betta really hate brine shrimp...

@dramaqueen : yes i just feed him once a day cause he tends to get bloated and it scares me when he is

When I first got Gilbert... OMG he wouldn't eat pellets either. I found out this was because they were selling him only bloodworms in the pet store... So what do ya do? Keep feeding them pellets. I wanted him to be healthy, at first I actually used nail clippers to cut them in half and make them look more manageable, after a week or two of refusing to eat, he caught on. Now he jumps out of the water to get pellets off of my finger; it seems it's not so much them being picky but more what they recognize as their food.

The silly bottle recommends 3-4 pellets twice per day... yuck! I've done 2 in the morning, 2 at night, going strong for a long time now :)

lol. Try flakes. Is her mouth really small? My first female couldn't eat pellets because they were bigger than her mouth...then she refused to when she was older

There's a lot of specially made betta flake brands, and almost all contain what's necessary in her diet. Try some in place of the pellets. If that doesn't work, try a pinch of freeze dried brine shrimp.
