Question ...Is Augie Bloated?

I just got him today, and posted pics of him... go here...

http://www.bettafish.com/showthread....779#post288779

And, if you look at the comments, someone said he looked a little bloated.
Can someone tell me if he IS bloated? At the pet store, I think they were just overfeeding. Lots of them looked kinda chubby... And if he does have bloat, how in the world do I cure it? I've never experienced bloat with my bettas before...
Thanks!

I was one of the people that said he was bloated. If you look by his stomach it looks like he's swallowed a small ball. Fish get bloated because they haven't fully digested their food so it just basically sits there. To cure this, fast him (don't feed him) for a couple days and you'll see the "ball" disappear. I've heard that giving them daphnia after helps.

No problem! :) I just saw the new pictures you took of him and he looks much better! And don't hesitate to ask us any questions, that's what we're here for. :)

I'm sure Augie will be fine after he settles into his new home.

Thank you, I hope so... But he's already starting to display more color, he's swimming around more, and when I put a small mirror in front of him, he shimmies and shows off, so I think he's going fine. :)
