i dont think id suggest experimenting with it. if it were me id just fully submerse it and let it just adjust the way its going to be. youll stress the plant out too much if you partially submerse it and then fully submerse it, itll have to cycle twice and i doubt itd survive that.

also to kill off snails, you could just soak the plant in your sink, and DONT dechlorinate the water overnight. that should kill off the snails

Okay, I'll just put them in the tank. I still want to research them and see how they all grow. I don't want something that is going to completely take over my tank.
Our water doesn't have chlorine, its well water.
Also, could you tell me how to step-by-step cycle a tank? I've heard you know a lot about that.
