Question Unfamiliar with Aquabid

So I know several people on here have purchased some gorgegous bettas off of Aquabid. I'm am thinking about this since I've been dying for a halfmoon and dragon betta ;) But I have a couple questions I was hoping you guys could answer..

So the bidding process is like ebay? Highest bid wins (obviously) haha?

Is there extra shipping cost in addition to fish price? (if so how much?)

How long after purchase do you receive the fish?

Are the fish normally in good shape?

Return policy if a fish arrives dead?

Thanks!

If the fish are from overseas ( mostly from thailand that i saw ) then the fish has to be shipped to a transhipper in the US from the seller. The transshipper then ships the fish to you. The transhippers have all the legal mumbo jumbo to be able to accept fish through customs. There are a few transhippers in the US that most of the sellers use and they use them on a set schedule. Like every 2 weeks they will ship out everyones betta upto that point in one big shipment to the same transhipper ( usually hundreds of fish ) The transhipper then inspects and reships the fish onto their new owners. Thats the basics of it. The sellers usually charge like $5-6 for shipping in addition to the cost of the fish. This only gets the fish to the transhipper. THEN you must pay shipping to the transhipper to get the fish from them to you. Can be shipped priority or overnight but most guarantees are only if you do it overnight. ( who wants their fishy wandering around for extra days anyways ) Each transhipper charges slightly different amounts so you need to contact them for a quote but a good estimate is about $30-$40 for overnight and then add like $4 for each extra fish. ( these are just rough estimates, please research it yourself )

I havent gotten any fish myself yet but i plan on it and just happened to recently research this myself.
