How much is too much?

How much is too much to spend on a betta? Basically, what's the max price you'll pay for a betta fish?

I paid $12 each on my two Halfmoon bettas at Petco. That's the most I've spent.

Yeah, I got most of mine from Petco. How much is the bidding up to on the fish that you want to get?

I wish I had a Petco here. I guess Kentucky doesn't have them.

I paid 22.30 for Castiel, just for the sheer fact dragon's aren't common in Adelaide, Aus. The price for a standard VT ranges from 8.99 - 12.00 dollars (12 being the most common price at LFS) CT's are usually from 10-15 dollars.

Females usually range from 9-11 dollars, despite the fact they are particularly rare here. I'm willing to eventually pay $100 for a breeding pair of HM's from Brisbane, as they are stunning and there is no way I'd find that standard down here at all! But that is well down the track :P

Most I've spent was $8.00 on a Mustard Gas Crowntail Betta at PetCo.

I think I paid $6 or $7 for Chesire, from Petco. She was a CT.
