Hello all! I am new to the forum. I have had a few bettas in my life, but this is my first one as an adult. Got him yesterday at Petco (what a great selection!). He is in a 2 gallon tank and is very picky with his food - only eats blood worms, not pellets!!

I have attached a couple of pictures. He is a dark red/black body, with turquoise overlay and RED CT fins. He has the same turquoise overlay/rays in his fins. I tried to capture this in the photos.

I am thinking of breeding at some point, when I get a chance to research. I am FASCINATED by genetics and think these would be great fish to learn more about genetics with.

nice fish... i bought mine at petco too, i think they have the best selection of bettas here

Your fish is very pretty!!! Petco has an awesome selection, but crazy expensive prices here...

Your fish should start eating pellets soon. :) They usually just need time to adjust to their new home. Just keep offering them to him and he should start to eat them.
