Help!

Ok, so Im new to the whole breeding business.
And I was wondering,
what are some things I should do BEFORE getting my betta?

I know I need high quality LIVE food, a sponge filter, 10g (or 20g) tank with a divider, and a leaf or something to help out with the bubble nest.
I should also filter the tank for a few days before buying my fish. What else?
I don't want my betta to die within 3 days of buying it. =P

slow down set up and get the tank ready first read up on cycling etc... then get the betta's you want to breed then wait for a bit they need to get used to the new environment and then become healthy if they are not already and tehn look at starting the breeding.. of course you can begin to set up everything you need long befor they are ready like the system for the fry and where they are potentially going after they grow out were to store them etc....
main point slow down read more get everythiong ready and let the fish be happy and healthy before you worry about breeding....

I would definately research some more, you need to learn how to take care of the fish first before you can start to breed. Breeding is very time consuming and very expensive, alot of though needs to go into it. I would recommend going to the the general care part of this forum and start there as you do not know what to do with your tank and your fish, then when you have read enough there you can begin to research on breeding, and i would research for quite some time before you begin!
