Yesterday after noon I had some spare cash so I decided to go pick up some supplies for my new betta tank collection, which should be start sometime next week. While I was in there picking all the basic stuff I saw a red crowntail with sparkles of light blue along his back in the mix of the betta fish. Normally in the town that Im in you hardly find any different bettas, unless you want to pay 50 dollars for one. But I saw this crowntail for 10 bucks, so I thought I would buy him. He looked so depressed in his bowl which about 10cm of water in it.
Funny enough the lady that sold me the fish didn't have a clue about anything. I asked her if the fish were feed to today, she didn't know. Yet she was the only cleaning all the other fish tanks, so I'd assume she knew something as smiple as that. Also she was trying to tell me that I didn't need a big tank for the fish, because I said to here that I had a 2g tank for the fish.
Anyways, so I assumed the fish was feed and took him home. After waiting 30 minutes of waiting around to release him into his new home. I noticed him eyeing off an ant that was make it's way across the glass. After releasing the fish into the tank, I noticed he wasn't a strong swimmer because of the condition that he was in before and my tank has a small current because of the filter. Yet he finally got used to it, and started to swim under the downpour from the filter so it would push him down to the bottom of the tank.
Today, I woke up to find a large bubble nest. The funny thing was that it's placed right under the downpour from the the filter. But anyway, he looks a look happier and very active today after a nice feeding of bloodworms, I thought I give him something nice instead of those cheap flakes that the shop was feeding them. Apart from that I have decided to name him Alphonse.
I'll try to get some pictures soon, I have to wait until the camera makes it's way back home.
