Smile Male bettas in 29 gallon

So we are thinking about dividing our 29 gallon in to 6 instead of buying a 20 gallon long for the boys. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! Also any ideas on how to make the most of the space? Since the fish will be swimming more up/down then side to side. I know tall plants, anything else? Thanks

Thanks! How should I go about filtering? I have the filter from the 29 gallon, which would be way too strong. I have a filter for a 5 and 10 gallon tank. Which should I use? And how can I easily keep water circulating? Thanks

Hmm, I'm not sure as I've never cared for a tank of that size. I would assume the dividers would slow down circulation at the opposite end of the tank from the filter. Maybe add 2 filters to the tank, one on each end? Like maybe two 10 gallon filters?

I'm not sure how it would work though. Good luck!

Yeah, I'd do the divison like this [--|--|--] and put the ten gallon filter on one end, then the five gallon on the other

or you could get a filter thats made for your size tank and the current should carry even with the dividers.

But it would be way too strong for the betta living in that section.

I was thinking the same thing, but the other end of the hood doesn't "pop out" for space for a filter...

i agree with adding filtration made for the tank , i also have seem multiple filters in use so thats ok also.. one idea for movement is taking an air line and plugging up the end then (using a pin or tack) put holes in the line to the length of your tan then put it under your gravel at the back of the tank and run the non holed line up the corner and add your air pump... instant wall of bubbles!!! the movement of the bubbles moves the water and keeps breaking surface tension for great airation...
