Female bubble nest?

I had no idea that females could bubble nest, but she is. She has bubbles all over the edges of her tank and by her heater. There are one or two spots where the bubbles are so thick it looks like foam.

She's the only fish in her 10Gal tank. We're not sure if we should try breeding her or not.

Suggestions???

I didn't know they could make bubble nests either until a couple weeks ago when one of my females made one. I wanted to breed, but after extense research I realized that it was harder than I thought and decided that I didn't have the time or the money to put into it. Plus, if they do breed you could end up with 200 babies (not all of them survive though), so you have to make sure that you have homes for them at a lps or give them to family/friends etc. I would say to make sure you research it thoroughly and ask as many quetions on here as possible. We have a couple people that are experts in breeding and I'm sure would love to help you through it. Good luck!

Thank you so much!

I probably won't breed her. I don't think I have the time or money to put into it and that's not fair to her or the fry. I really just wanna make sure she's happy.

Thanks for your help. It's been driving me batty!

I think it would be safe to say that she is happy, she has a whole 10 gallon to herself, and usually bettas blow a bubble nest when they are happy, but that is not a proven fact yet. Not all female bettas blow bubbles but some do and its quite cool to see. If you do plan to breed remember to research just like what was mentioned above.
