Ridding myself of snails...help...

Well, I thought I got all of them. I even cleaned out the filter. I'm still finding little babies every now and then crawling along the aquarium gravel.

Is my only hope to throw out all the gravel, rocks, plants and start over???

i had the same problem a wile back. What i did was i cleaned out the whole tank and ran very hot water over the tank and the gravel for a wile. It either killed all the snails or killed the food they were living off of. O and i ran realy hot water over the filter too. If i remember right i didnt have a single snail left (just the millions of shells lol)

You could try and find an assasin snail? They eat other snails. I've seen them on aquabid but I don't know where you'd find them otherwise.

I think assassin snails will eat fish, too.

Hot water works great. I had to do this years ago with my frog tank. The snails just kept breeding and breeding. But a good hot water soak got rid of every last one.

Ah! Okay. I'll run the gravel under hot water and hopefully that will work. Yeah, I don't want an assasin snail eating up my fish!

Yup, blasting the tank with hot water followed by cold water was what I did to get rid of my snails.
