Picky betta....

So the female betta i got yesterday is doing fantastic! She's eating and swimming around and even follows my finger around!
But, my male, is being picky about his food. He does not like pellets at all...he refuses to eat them! I saw his spit some back out and I thought they were too big so I always pick out the small ones for him...but he doesnt eat those either. I gave him a few freeze dried bloodworms and he gobbled those right up.
Why wont he eat his darn pellets! Its like trying to feed a kid broccoli...
are there any other foods I can try to give him? Besides blood worms.....
(I moved him to a 1.5 and he seems much more active in there O.o)

Oh and Ive tried crushed pellets but he ignores that too

Just keep offering him the pellets. Hopefully, he'll start eating them when he realizes thats all he's going to get.

keep at it, just offer him pellets until he starts eating them, if you keep giving him bloodworms he will never take the pellets, once he starts eating pellets then reintroduce bloodworms..... it might take a week or two for him to get use to his new home plus pellets

Mine are the same way, I started giving them bloodworms once in a while and that's all they would take. However, I stopped with the bloodworms for a while and I guess they realized it was BW's or starving. Lol even though I wouldn't starve them.

When you first get bettas, it can take them a while to get comfortable enough to eat. I've had some that eat the next day and others that didn't start eating until a week after I got them. Just keep feeding him the pellets and he'll eventually realize that that's his food. Blood worms should only be given as a treat.

My 2 day new male also wont eat flakes or pellets. He only eats the frozen blood worms, and I have to have them moving. I would go to the store and pick some up and slowly add flakes/pellets until he eats those.

I got BettaFin for mine and he hasn't eatten them either (the are flakes). Should I try pellets like most people feed theirs, or continue with flakes?
