Sushi not liking to chase food???

Well, so i put my betta in a filtered 5 gallon tank. (he is really spoiled and hasn't liked any of the tanks with filters i have put him in before, only likes his tiny 2 gallon bowl) He is doing rather well in it (fins aren't clamped, doesn't hide in the plants all day, explores...)
THe only problem i am having is that he doesn't like to chase his food, the current moves them.
Should i either just let him learn to chase them (i have been doing this but adding an extra pellet or two just to make sure) or turn off the filter for the 5 min i feed him? I curious if this little bit of "excersize" is good for him, or if he isn't getting enough to eat (he is a large betta, about 3" long)

You can get him a feeding ring.

I use a feeding ring for Marina's tank since she gets fed micro pellets. They work great. You just have to lead them to the ring. She caught on very fast. Now anytime she realizes the tank lid is opening up or you go near the tank she goes to her ring.

They learn pretty quickly! lol

Well he seems to be getting quicker at chasing them (ill have to look into the feeding rings) he now gets about 3 out of 4 pellets. I love him in this tank! he is SO much more active! :D

Mine never liked chasing their food, either. lol
