Fin rot questions

Hello I noticed my betta fish displaying signs of fin rot a few days ago. This is my first time dealing with this so I have some questions. I started using bettafix because that's what I was told to use. It has worked great and his fins have already grown back very quickly. But after doing some research online I see a lot of people don't think it is safe so I would like to stop using it just in case. My question is if his fins are growing back and color is returning is he healed? Is it okay to stop using the bettafix or will he become sick again. I also bought him a new 5 gallon tank with a heater and a filter.

If he is showing signs of sickness, then I would stop. Unfortunately, I don't know what you could use instead. Maybe Epsom salt?

Betta fix has an iffy reputation. it can be considered a supplement treatment- like putting alo vera on a sunburn. it can help certainly but isnt medication.
People 'hate' it because the fix range has a plant agent in it that can coat the labrynth organ and make it hard for them to breathe through it. Bettafix however has far less of this additive in it. However many breeders still distrust the fix brand in general just in case.

If there's no more sign of rot you can safely stop treatment, I'm glad to see he is better

After using betta fix, use Aquarium salt.
I used the betta fix on mine, and then after the seven days, I started the Aquarium Salt for 10 days.

Thanks. I got some aquarium salt today. I was planning to let it sit over night and change the water tonorrow. I also have a zebra snail in my tank. Is it okay to add the aquarium salt with him in there?
