Am I cleaning the water too much?

I have 2 x 1.75 gallon bowls which I do a 100% water change on every 3 or 4 days (more often 3 because the cloudiness bugs me). I see that some say a 100% change is too much, but they do still have some of their old water in the cups they wait in for the bowls to be done which of course goes back in with them.

They seem to be happy (except for Murdoch of course lol ;) ) but am I stripping the water of vital nutrients for them or?

I would say that for that size doing 100% water changes 2 to 3 times a week is a good idea.

Okay great, thanks! I was worried maybe I was doing them harm or the consistency of changes was stressing them but they don't seem to show it.

You can never do too many water changes. :) They'll eventually get used to it. One of mine that I've had for almost two years swims into the net for me every time I do his water change.lol

Ha, no kidding! I've never had a Betta swim INTO a net before, well not intentionally.
I scoop them into their cups now anyway, it's a lot easier.

Yep.. the more the better. I do changes on my 1 gal every other day but I only do 100% like 2 times a week. I do 50% wait a day 100% wait a day and so on just to make it easier on me.

Yeah, at first I thought he didn't mean to swim right in, but now he does it all the time. :) I wish my other fish were like that...lol
