Question about Aquarium with hood

Hi,

I have a Halfmoon Male Betta ( and this is my first fish), I got the fish just couple of days ago, right now it is in a 1/2 gallon glass bowl with some live plant. Today I got a Hagen Marina 10 Gallon aquarium (with 50 W Hagen Elite heater and with Slim Power Filter). But after buying the aquarium I got some questions..please advise me..

1. This aquarium has a hood with a light (14 W). Is this okay for a Betta? From the past two days I am observing my Betta..most of the times it stays at the top of the bowl. If I put this light and hood..I don't know how it feels..

2. I am planning to just leave betta alone in this tank..is it oaky?

Thanks,
Yarkar.

The light will be fine. You'll only need to have it on for about 8 hours a day.
It's best to have a hood, because they are jumpers and will jump out of a tank!
He will be fine by himself and will actually LOVE the space.
