Ok. So my twin sister as I've mentioned a few times before inspired me to become a future betta owner; and while looking up information about betta fish I found and became a member of this forum! =]
Well she went out today to get a bigger tank for her betta Gunther because he's been living in a 1gal corner aquarium for a few months now and has finrot due to the crappy undergravel filter.
When she went to Wal-Mart she texted me and we've been talking about tanks and medicines and water treatments and such. (she's picking up some fungusclear to use along with her bettafix to cure the finrot and prevent infection)
Well.... she decided to get a 5 gallon kit. Then she asked if a male and female can be kept together. I told her that they might be able to if the tank was divided... but I'm not really sure and she REALLY loves the girl she found. It's a white one and she's already got her side of the tank planned.=] So I was wondering if it was possible for a male and female to live together permanently in a divided 5 gallon.
I know that they'll probably be in heat for a while because they'll sense eachother's presence but will that stop after a month or so? and she wants to know if breeding stripes are pretty.
Thanks so much for the wonderful threads! =] I love this forum and all of the knowledge I've gained from it so far! =]
