Smile Good News! :)

Well, I thought this forum could use a sunny spot. So, I'd like to share an update on my betta, Friedrich.

When I brought him home, he was obviously stressed and lethargic, and refused any food I gave him. He ripped his fins up and freaked out whenever I walked past his tank, or got even remotely close.

Now, he's a very happy little fish! He's changed color a bit, turned a deeper blue than you see in the picture of him in my avatar. His fins look like they're on the mend. I'm sitting right in front of him and he's just chillin', watching me type. He's also taking the food pellets whenever I give them to him!

Not only that, but I'm about to buy him an appropriately sized tank - hopefully a 3.5 or 5 gallon. I tested his compatibility with my ADF (Dorkus) last night, and he did really well.

I'm ecstatic. This is the best anything has gone for me in a long, long time. :P

Lol, I'm glad you've had such luck! It really is amazing how much they start to come out of their shells.

Jack (the betta in my avvie) was pretty skittish when I first got him too. I named him Jack Frost because he was a pale iridescent blue. He's still iridescent, but he's really gained some color since I got him. He also enjoys hanging out on the side of his tank closest to me and watching me... quite a change from a fish so afraid of me that he would freak out when I moved to drop his food in!

Kesh-

There's a teeny tiny little button near the bottom of the forum when you go into it that says 'new thread'. It's really small, so you have to look hard. XD

Eolith and sunset - I just put him into his new 5.5 gallon! He was kinda miffed at me for a while, but now it looks like he's loosening up and starting to explore. He seems uneasy, I don't think he's ever had a tank that big before. xD

And Jack looks gorgeous! Beautiful fin color.

Eating is always a good sign. Though it's normal for them to ignore food for a few days when they're adjusting to a new home.

Ah, good. I have an ADF in there with him, I'm watching them right now to make sure they get along. So far, Freed's ignoring it, sometimes he looks at it suspiciously but he hasn't nipped or flared that I've seen.

Taking care of fish makes me ridiculously anxious, in case you can't tell. XD

I know how you feel...I've been away from my fish for a month now. Every night I'm always worrying about my CT that's vunerable to dirty water and my female who jumps a lot. xD
