Neptune bloated, or something more?

I was thinking he was jsut having a fat day, but I havent fed him in over days. He's pretty darn fat... big fish to begin with (3.5" long when tail isn't torn) but you can see he's bulging.

I fed all my fish some daphnia Saturday night. I think Saturday morning he got into his tank mate's food.

Wow, that is a big bulge. Maybe it's swim bladder disease? I hope your guy gets better! :(

I would fast him for several more days and see if the bulge goes down.

Yea.. He has no problem swimming or anything and seems happy. Still himself coming to the tank as soon as you walk into the room fins going a mile a minute lol.

I think he might need to go till the 25th without food... if nothing better by then, Ill give him some more daphnia and see how that goes.

Hmmm I can't say that bloating looks good. There's a possibility that he could just be constipated or it could be the mystery bloat. I pray it isn't the latter.

I'd say fast him for a bit. If possible, add some Epsom salt to the water (1tsp per gallon) it will help with both constipation and bloating.

Well its been almost a week now, and Ive seen no real improvement. I fed him daphnia twice throughout the week.

When i looked over earlier there was a very impressive sized poo sinking to the bottom of the tank (about an inch long) but thats the first that Ive seen.

Well.. hes still the same. Swimming around like normal, and I make him chase for his food. But if anything, Id say he was a bit larger.
