So I have a ramshorn snail that laid eggs today (9-1-2011) and they are actual ramshorn eggs not weird yellow dots...
Anyway I have been doing research because I want them to hatch and so far there are only 4 eggs, which I can easily deal with. I'm not worried about a population explosion because I regulate food and waste very carefully.
Through out my research a lot of people have been saying that you need to have a calcium supplement in there to help with their shells.
One suggestion was cuttlebone which I already have for my chinchillas...
My question is would this be safe to put in with my betta? I want to do it, just because it may help them a little bit more and I'm already in mommy mode for the eggs.
But of course I don't want to do ANYTHING that could hurt Alfonso or Rosie.
If cuttlebone won't work do you know of a cheap alternative that I could use?
Thanks for any input.
