some plants have very thin roots, like some hair grass, in which case they probably won't grow too well in the gravel. I also bought a blyxa japonica, which I thought would do alright, but it was uprooted very easily from the gravel from the snail moving around it.
Others, as mentioned, like the amazon sword will do just fine. Also, you may want to get a few bulbs (try your luck! lol) since those will just grow out from the bulb and down into the substrate which will work fine with gravel.
