Well I have my Lunch in a 2.5 gallon Hex tank at last, and it's wonderful. I will never buy a round tank again! He seems to have a LOT more room, and doesn't bash into the sides as much as he use to. I could have used a 3 gallon round tank.. but it's one of those old fashion world globes with the continents on it and it's so.. tacky. So glad he's in the hex.
I'd been heating him, in his 3 gallon bowl and a 1 gallon temp home, and now in his 2.5 hex, with a Hydor Mini 7.5 Watt, which I am starting to hate. The temp goes up and down because our home temp goes up and down a lot. People going in and out all day, my daughter turning on her heater when she's at home, but it's off when she's at school, and I spend most of my day outside taking care of the other 30+ animals in the family, I can't check on it every 10 minutes.
So I'm thinking of splurging on a new heater and the Marineland Mini Heater 10 Watt seems ideal. A constant 78 degrees would be just perfect! But I want to know if anyone else has one of these, and how well they work. And if anyone knows of somewhere inexpensive to get them online (keep in mind I live 2 hours from the nearest pet store, and my local pet store is going out of business

)
So, any ideas?
