help

My Betta has a growth on his face. Have tx with pimafix, metafix ad erythromycin. Nothing has changed it. I want to put him back in my community tank. Want to make sure it is safe.

I've never seen anything like that before either. I definitely wouldn't put him back in the community tank until you figure it out though!
I hope someone can help!

Looks like face rot although unfortunately I don't know much about it. I would cut this melafix/pimafix crud and hit it with a good broad-spectrum antibiotic like the Maracyn/Maracyn 2 combo. Melafix is an antiseptic not an antibiotic and pimafix is a fungicide. Neither of which help with face rot, which is bacterial.

It's not a very clear picture. Is it raised or anything? Cos it kinda looks like it might be a marble pattern, but without seeing a clearer picture...
Hopefully its nothing serious!

The area is raised. I have tx with erythromycin as well. The fish acts normal and eats.

Ouch, that looks nasty. I'd keep him in a hospital tank, and keep on top of water changes incase it is bacterial. Have you tried salt baths? I'm not sure of betta meds, but another forum where someone's female had a lump on her face was told to use Tetracycline.

It could be a tumor, which as I understand can't be fixed :

Poor dear :(:(
