Question Salt Bath Question

OK, I have a question about salt baths (or more so the water).

If I mix up 1 gallon of salt bath water, can I save the UNUSED protion to administer salt baths throughout the week???

Or do you need to mix fresh salt bath water every day?

I don't see why you can't use the left over portion. I always mix up fresh salt, but as long as it isn't sitting there for months, it should be fine.

yeah, I figured I would do it for a week, then if he still needs baths dump out the left over & start a fresh batch of salt bath water for the next week....

If you mix up fresh batches everytime you give salt baths, what is your salt to water ratio (how much salt do you add for how much water you use)... or do you just mix up a gallon & dump the rest out?

Yeah, whatever I don't use, I just dump out. I guess that's wasting a lot of salt.lol

I have never thought about this, but I am sure if you leave it covered and out of direct sunlight, it should be fine for a week or so.

So far so good.... although I just mixed up the bath water last night & gave him one right away....

ALSO, is it OK to warm the water in the microwave to get it close to the tank water temp? I used my fingers to try to get the temps close.... But is this dumb???

No it isn't dumb, but you can just use warm water from the tap too and keep adding hot water until it comes to the right temp. Just make sure that you have a thermometer.

In general, I thought you were supposed to let tap water sit over night before doing anything with it (tank water changes, etc....)

Some people do that, but I don't. It's up to you.
