Worst fish expierience in my life!!!

i changed the water in my fish tank and then left for my piano lesson. when i came back i found my fish on the carpet!!!!! i screamed and everytime i tried to pick him up, his mouth opened.....at first i thought i was imagining things but i wasnt.
so after a whole night of crying, my brother picked him up and he wasnt dead...IT SCARED ME SOOOOOOOO MUCH...

Did you put him back in the water? Bettas can survive longer than most fish when they jump out, provided they don't dry up.

wait... you left the betta on the floor the WHOLE night??!?!?!?!?!? why didn't you get a net or a cup or something and put him back in the tank if you didn't want to physically pick him up?

I do not mean to be callous here, but if you will not pick up your fish to place back in his tank because you are scared of his mouth opening, you need to really consider whether you should be tending to a living being.

The labyrinth organ in your betta's head allows for extended periods of time out of water, but ALWAYS return to water immediately.
