new here...I do NOT suggest Mollies as tank mates

I bought mollies on the recommendation of the fish store...they beat the crap out of my male betta yesterday while I was working. Small hole in his tail and bite on his side. I was seriously considering flushing them down the toliet last night, but could not bring myself to kill them.. I returned them today and traded for a small cory cat.
Just my experience...thought that I would share.

Wow, it really irks me when LPS employees are idiots. Mollies are aggressive fish, which means they aren't supposed to be recommended tank mates for Betta's. However, my mollies are just attention queens and aren't aggressive at all. I guess I got lucky because they are so sweet. I am sorry you didn't have such good luck with your betta and mollies. You could get some tetras, ADFs, etc.

Wow, no doubt Betta Momma. They must have run across a new employee at their LPS.

Wow, that's ashame. Mollies, platys, guppies, etc are all no go's for bettas. Do a google search for tank mates. Almost every website will tell you that. I just wish fish store employees would educate themselves on things like this if they choose to work there. Good tank mates are ghost shrimp, ADF, cory's, and snails. NOTHING that a betta could mistake for another betta or any fast swimming fish..
