New Female

So....my friend bought a female and put her in a BOWL wit his male. I told him it wouldn't work because its too small. Well his male chased the female everywhere for 3 days. Well he gave me the female, now i have 3. Two males and 1 female. I had to put the female in a small bowl (its all i have). Well i put the bowl next to my oldest males tank to see what they do. My male flares up, but the female flares too, I think.

Question is..............

How can i tell if they are compatible???

My friends male pretty much wanted to kill the female. I dont want that to happen.

Can i keep them in the same tank????

Nope. Males and females can't be housed together, period. Only time they should ever be in the same tank is if said tank is divided or for breeding. No matter what, eventually one will kill the other.
