Overfeeding

My roomate gave my betta a little more food without telling me right away, and now he has a small bulge in his gut near is tail. I only have generic "betta" pellets for a few more days, and the food is probably contributing to that too.

Anyway, how can I help clear him out a little bit?

Fast him until his belly goes down. I accidently overfed my betta the other day when I accidently dropped a cube of bloodworms in her tank and she went on a frenzy before i could pull it out on time. I fasted her for a day and her belly went down to normal. And anways, you should fast your bettas once a week.

Fast him for 2 or 3 days, then feed him some daphnia, either freeze dried or frozen. Freeze dried needs to be rehydrated before feeding. You can get daphnia at most petstores like Petco or Petsmart.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep him off of food until I can get some better stuff.
