I have a 15 gallon tank that im thinking of dividing. I already have one betta and 3 cory's in the 15 gallon. Without really thinking it through, I bought another betta withouth a real place to put hm. So for now he is in a 2 gallon tank. I really dont like the 2 gallon, as I feel it is too small and doesnt provide adequate filtration. So Im thinking of dividing the 15 gallon and having one betta along with 2 corys on each side. I know corys like to be in groups of 3 or more...but do you think having only 2corys on each side will be sufficient??

you could mark off a 3 gallon section for one of the betta and leave the corys as a school

I agree with Jynx. Divide a smaller section for the second betta, and leave the larger area for the other betta+cories. You could do up to 5 gallons for the new boy.

thanks. If i do a smaller section for the new betta....could i put an ADF OR a few ghost shrimp in with him...or will i be pushing overstocking the tank?

You could put in an ADF or ghost shrimp in there without overstocking. The only problem will arise if your betta decides to bully them.

thanks, i think i may try ghost shrimp. seem like they are easier to care for that ADFs. thanks for the advise...once I have everyone in place i will post pics.

It depends how big the section is. With 3 gallons, I'd do a ghost shrimp or two. But if you decide to give him 4 or 5 gallons, and ADF or two should be fine. :)

well its a 15 gallon tank. so i might try to give him at least 5. I worry about ADF feeding. I know they eat meat...and i just think that would dirty up the tanks more.

really its hard to overstock an aquarium if the fish are the correct size and you change the water often enough!
