Unhappy Medication?

So after hours of looking at photos and reading forums I have decided that my Betta has some sort of fungus disease :( I bought this medication called API Fungus Cure but I dont know if I should use it because the instructions say that it will discolor the water, which can be removed with activated carbon or API BIO-CHEM Zorb... my understanding is that these are for filters... which I dont have in my fish tank :( So I'm wondering if this medication should not be used because I dont have a filter? Please help.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you are supposed to remove activated carbon from the filter, if you have one, when you medicate. So you don't need a filter to medicate. I don't have filters and I've had no problem medicating my fish, if needed.
