Hi tiffany and Ambiant! I did not know Bettas could do tricks...what tricks would I be able to have him do? Lol that would be fun! I think Rust knows he's cute and gorgeous the way he flutters about in his tank when I come near. He really loves his pellets too so he gets pretty excited and animated, hoping for some though I only feed him a little in the morning and at night. It was hard to get that sassy pic, he was in constant motion! I love his little personality. The way he looks right at me and seems so smart too. Yes I am in love with a fish lol!

You should make rusty jump for food. Do you have freeze dried blood worms? Bettas go crazy for those. Also if you have a glass tank, you should draw on the outside of the tank with dry erase marker. My bettas love that. Also tricks help bettas get an work out

From One Rusty to Another

Good afternoon lindy62 and welcome to our community which is the best link on anything betta related. I too have a crown tail named Rusty. So Rusty says hello to you too.

Thumbs up My Betta's and Me

I have owned Betta's on and off for 20 years.
I have 7 beauties, Mr.Blue, Ghetto, Betty, Teeny, Sunny, Deadguy, dead 2.
I rescue Betta's from our local Walmart and the last two names tell you what bad shape they were in when I brought them home. But they are thriving now :)

My father was an award winning breeder of guppies and he bred many other fish, I got my love for tropical fish from him.

I love betta's they have a wonderful personality.
I think I belonged to this site many years ago, its very informative and I love looking at everyone's pictures

Cool, I'll try that! I assume Petco, where I got Rusty, would sell the bloodworms. Rusty's tank is not glass so I guess I won't be able to decorate it with dry erase markers, but I love that idea!
