New Betta, 1st time owner

So i went to pet smart. Never had fish before my first time. I've been reading this website for the past 3 weeks. I go to pet smart and buy a betta tell the worker i have no tank. Just to see how much they care i act like i don't have alot $$$$$. They recommend the 1/2 gallon marina betta kit and they said i don't need a filter or heater. I would have went for it but after reading the topics from bettafish.com i wouldn't do it. All they wanted was for me to buy the fish and make a couple bucks..NOt saying all pet smarts stores are like that.

Dude. I can't begin to tell you how much trouble you have saved yourself simply by doing some flipping research before buying! Is that a Tetra Water Wonders 5.5g tank? I have one and I love it... did you know you can unscrew the incandescent bulb and switch it for a compact fluorescent bulb if you want to try some low-light plants?

Great job with your tank, it's lovely. I like how you did research!!! That's always the best way to go about it. I think you end up saving money that way and get great healthy fish I bet you have a happy fishie
