Hi everyone, new to the site and bettas.

Hey everyone, im new to the world of betta and just wanted to be part of this betta online community. Being a super noob that I am I went and bought a tank and the fish and the food without ever reading anything about it. It was sort of on a whim haha.

I got one of those 1/2 gallon Marina tanks with the led light, some lucky bamboo, some little rocks, and a small filter that I only run for like 10 mins a day. I use a turkey baster to clean out the poop like 3 times a day in conjunction with around 20% water changes cause the turkey baster picks up alot of water along with the poop. The setup is working very good...the water is super clean and my fish seems really happy cuase he always gets excited when its feeding time and he swims back and forth alot and he hides under the filter also lol.

The main reason i got a small tank was because I live in military housing for submarine school and I didnt wanna push the envelop too much by having too big a tank cause i share my room with 2 other people. But anyways I'll get some pics up soon and also glad to be part of : )

Hello and welcome.

If you have to keep your fish in something that small, at least you're taking good care to keep the water clean. That's the most important thing. And it is bigger than the cups they come in.

Good luck.
