Sam's started on his second one!
I'm glad he wasn't discouraged by the water change.
This one's not so big yet but in the span of one day it's about the size of an egg!

The thing that gets me about bubble nests is that..well maybe this is just me but I've never seen him actually MAKING it.. it just kind of appears. I'll see him hovering below it quite seriously but I don't see him making bubbles or doing anything, more like he's eye-ing his next move or something.

Then I get up in the morning or come back from work and suddenly its way bigger. It's almost like he waits till I'm gone or not paying attention.

When I got home from work around 6 I discovered Siegfried (my 1st betta, had him only 2 days) had been lining the sides of his little tank with bubbles while I was gone. I took the top off to talk to him & feed him. After gobbling down the 3 pellets that I allow him daily, he proudly created another bubble as if to show off!

Siegfried's tank is small, but he's seems to be telling me I'm doing something right!

My friend just gave me her betta, it was in horrible condition! all his fins are more than half way torn..Anyways ive had him for about a week and just yesterday he started building a bubble nest in his 5gal...this morning atleast half of the srface of his tank was filled with his bubble nest! He seems so happy, as if his fins werent hurt at all ^^

I am so happy to read this thread as I notice my Betta was doing the same thing. I guess I am a success with my second fish (Well my daughter's).

I am happy for Dorian too.

At least we newbies are learning. I guess it is all the advice from this site!!!

So a bubble nest means they're happy? My guys nest appeared a couple days ago and i was like "what the heck is that?" lol. I've noticed a big change my my guys personality ever since i got him is tank. So much more active. And its like he knows who i am now because everytime i look into his tank he sees me and starts swimming all crazy and stuff.
