coloring & fin question

ok si this is Toulouse ive had him seance June :) when i got him his body had no color and his fins were much lighter. he is the fish that taught me that the bettas at petstores colors signifigantly brighten when taken care of :) (my other males have always been very dark colors) so my question is what is his coloring called? ive been saying marbled but i dont think he is... also his tail is short. its always been like that but now that hes in the divided tank i can see him up close with my other boys. is there something wrong with it or should i just relax cuz he eats like a pig and is VERY active and social (hes flirting with me right now lol) here are the pictures

He would actually be called "grizzled" which is a variation of marble. Blue Jeans in my siggy is a grizzle as well.

His tail looks fine to me.. it doesn't look short at all.

He's so cute! His tail looks normal to me also, it'll grow more in time.
