Some breeders will cull the fish with defects. Fish that seem undesirable so as to not let those defects or imperfections be continued in any other breeders lines or even because they can't sell them. I'm assuming that's what the question above was in reference to. It just means they're gotten rid of or killed. Clove oil is popular from what I've read...as well as using them as feeder fish. I've also seen some folks say they freeze them to death.
