dumb betta owner needs help

Hi everyone..ok so spiderfish came down with ick, i bought the mardel product for ick and their maroxy to treat any secondary condition(mardel people told me to) well day four and no signs of ick, but he has white on his anal fin and tail fin and seems like his tail is not opening up the way it should..(not specks of what but looks like it is turning white) he is eating fine and is active..but his cory cat died 2 days ago. Unknown reason? Antiobitics too strong? Ick? No clue
i did a full water change yesterday and treated the tank again (3rd day) Will the broadspectrum antibiotics clear up whatever is going on?
The product says not to use with any other treatment and to do it for 5 days..I bought betta fix too should I use that after the 5 days?

Finish the full course of medications as instructed and let him recover. Medicating a fish is a stressful ordeal for him but you have to make sure all the ich is gone.

I also find it strange that they are advising to treat ich for only 5 days. Ich should be treated for two weeks minimum because at some points in the ich parasite's life cycle it is protected from the medication. What is the name of the medication?

Hold off on the bettafix afterwards, it is an antiseptic and therefore doesn't do much unless, for instance, you are trying to prevent the infection of a wound.
