what heater is best?

I have a 5 gallon aquarium with my betta in it and it has a heater, but I don't think it's doing such a great job heating up all the water. My betta spends a lot of time just hunkered down under the heater. Is that normal? The heater I have is from Wal-Mart and is made for 2-15 gallons. I have it in the corner...should i put it towards the middle? I just feel like maybe it's not heating all of the water evenly. Is there a better kind of heater that I should get? Thought there might be a better one...let me know what you think! Thanks!

I know I'm a little late, but I ONLY use Visi-therm. They are very accurate, you can set the temp right on the dial instead of fiddling with it, and it is solid black so it is not an eye sore in the tank.

I ordered the one that I showed in the link. It should be here soon! The one I have came from wal-mart and it is supposed to keep the temp at 78, but only warms it to 74-75. Not great!

I have the hydor mini heater, it works great.

The key for me is to be able to turn the heater to the desired temp. so you don't have to rely on factory settings which can be good or bad - why take the chance. Another key for me is the fact that they are fully submersible. Yours covers both.
