How many times should I rinse out a tank if the previous fish died from fin rot?

About 6 months ago my goldfish died from fin rot. I want to put my betta in this tank. How many times should I rinse this tank to get rid of fin rot?

Rinse the tank to remove any dust ( I am assuming you have taken it down) but other than that it will be prefectly fine. There is no way on earth bacteria will survive without food for more than a day, let alone 6 months.
