Maracyn Plus for fin rot

Has anyone had success with Maracyn Plus treating fin rot? Whiskey has it and I got Maracyn plus today. I noticed last week that his dorsal had bloody tips, so I used salt for him and increased his temp to 83. It hasn't eaten away at any finnage yet, it's just bloody. I waited a week and now it's also on his bottom fin. It's not too bad, two bloody spots on the top and now one on the bottom. I'm hoping maracyn plus will be able to knock it out of him. I read good reviews but I'm wondering if any one here has used it.

His water quality is good (0,0,10) but I'm having a persistant green algae (it's kinda like blue-green hair) in his tank due to the sun coming in my sliding glass doors and hitting his tank on one side. I've been cleaning it off the sides and then changing out 20% of his water to try and combat it but it comes right back.
