quarantine a new fish

I wasnt real sure where to post this so if im in the wrong place sorry . I currently have 3 bettas 2 in their own 3 gallon tank & 1 in a 2 gallon bowl. I have a 4th coming soon & I want to get a bigger tank & divide it for betta 3 & 4. My question is, how long should I quarantine my new guy before I put him in the same tank as betta 3?

Thanks for your help
Malinda

Two weeks should do the trick. If you want to be super safe, three weeks. I assume you are talking about the aquabid guy, so I doubt he is sick, so two weeks should do it for him.

A week. You should see if anything is wrong with her by then. If there is something wrong, keep him quarantined for a week after he is feeling better.

I agree with Noko. If you want to be extra safe then wait 3 weeks.

I QT for 2 weeks if the fish is going in by himself, 3 weeks if he is going into a divided tank. Just because he is from aquabid don't trust he isn't carrying some sort of parasite or fungal infection.
